Malva Sylvestris 'Zebrina'

'Zebrina' is a striking common mallow with pale pink to mauve flowers heavily streaked by fine reddish-purple veins. The bold funnel-shaped blooms appear in clusters along upright stems above lobed, toothed green leaves from early summer into autumn. Often grown as an annual or biennial, it can persist as a short-lived woody-based perennial in a sheltered site and readily renews itself from seed. The graphic flowers attract bees and give a strong cottage-garden effect, combining particularly well with grasses, silver foliage and dark-leaved plants.
