Meconopsis Complexa Mixed Colours

Meconopsis complexa Mixed Colours should produce bold Himalayan poppies with handsome overwintering rosettes, often clothed in silver or golden hairs, followed after several seasons by tall branching flower stems. Seedlings may open silky bowls in red, pink, yellow, cream or related intermediate shades, each centred by a prominent boss of stamens. Many plants in this complex are monocarpic, investing years in the rosette before flowering once and setting abundant seed. The mixture is ideal for cool, moist woodland gardens where individual colour forms can be selected and allowed to self-sow.
