Meconopsis Seeds (36 varieties)
ViewMeconopsis sulphurea is a high-altitude yellow poppy from southern Tibet, south-western China and northern Myanmar. A handsome rosette, often clothed in soft hairs, precedes tall stems of luminous sulphur-yellow flowers whose crinkled petals surround a crowded golden centre. The species was separated botanically from related yellow Meconopsis only in recent decades and remains rare in cultivation. It is monocarpic, storing energy over several seasons before one major display. Cool summers, dappled shade and soil that stays moist yet airy are vital to success.
