Melon Orange Candy

Melon Orange Candy is an unusual Amarillo-type melon with a smooth rind that turns from green to rich golden yellow at full ripeness. Inside is fragrant peachy-orange flesh with exceptional sweetness, a juicy but comparatively firm texture and a crisp flavour likened to fresh nashi pear. The frost-tender annual vines appreciate sustained warmth and can tolerate comparatively dry conditions once established, though a greenhouse, polytunnel or hot sheltered site offers the surest UK ripening. It is a rewarding choice for keen home growers.
