Narcissus Bulbocodium Obesus

Narcissus obesus is a compact hoop-petticoat daffodil from the western Mediterranean, long treated as a form of Narcissus bulbocodium. Fine, dark green leaves surround solitary yellow flowers with an exaggerated funnel-shaped corona and tiny, narrow outer tepals. The broad petticoat cup gives each bloom a bold shape despite the plant’s miniature size. Adapted to open, seasonally moist ground followed by dry summers, it is best displayed in a trough or bulb frame where drainage and winter protection can be controlled.
