Narcissus Miniatus

Narcissus miniatus, now often included within Narcissus deficiens, is a delicate autumn-flowering daffodil of the western Mediterranean. Slender stems carry one or a few white flowers with narrow tepals and a shallow orange to reddish corona, creating a bright miniature pheasant’s-eye effect before winter. Fine foliage may emerge with or after the blooms. Once confused with several related autumn narcissi, it remains a fascinating collector’s plant for a bulb frame, where a dry summer rest and cool-season moisture can be provided without severe frost.
