Nicotiana Mutabilis

Nicotiana mutabilis is a tall, airy Brazilian flowering tobacco whose branching stems carry hundreds of slender trumpet flowers. Each bloom opens pure white, then ages through blush pink to deep rose, so a single plant displays several colours at once from midsummer until frost. A large basal rosette anchors the light floral cloud and gives the plant real presence without heaviness. Excellent in cottage borders and cutting gardens, it also attracts evening moths and other pollinators. The changing colour is unforgettable, although all parts contain toxic alkaloids and must not be eaten.
