Oenothera Acaulis Aurea

This golden form of Oenothera acaulis offers the same neat, stemless rosette and oversized evening blooms as the white-flowered species, but in luminous yellow to rich gold. The broad saucer-shaped flowers sit almost directly on the deeply lobed foliage and open towards evening, shining against gravel and dark rock. Each flower is short lived, yet fresh buds provide a continuing summer display. Seed-raised plants may show some variation, making the batch useful for selecting the clearest colour and most compact habit for troughs and sunny rock gardens.
