Penstemon Hartwegii 'Giganteus'

‘Giganteus’ is a tall strain of Hartweg’s beardtongue, producing strong branching plants with large tubular flowers from midsummer into autumn. Seedlings may bloom in scarlet, crimson, pink, purple or violet, often with a broad white throat richly marked by darker veins. The parent species comes from Mexican highlands and helped shape the modern garden penstemon, contributing size, colour and a long flowering season. Excellent for cutting and pollinators, the strain creates a bold border display, though plants need warmth, drainage and some winter protection in cold gardens.
