Platycodon Grandiflorus 'Fuji White'

‘Fuji White’ is a tall, elegant balloon flower with upright stems carrying large pure white blooms in summer. Before opening, each flower forms a distinctive inflated bud that invites comparison with a miniature balloon; the five petals then unfold into a clean, sharply pointed star. Blue-green leaves give the clump a neat appearance, while the strong stems are valuable for cutting. Hardy and exceptionally long lived when undisturbed, this East Asian perennial suits sunny borders and cottage planting, emerging late in spring before building quickly into flower.
