Plum Mirabelle

Mirabelle plum is a small deciduous fruit tree associated especially with Lorraine, producing masses of white spring blossom followed by round golden-yellow plums with intensely sweet, aromatic flesh. The fruit is excellent eaten fresh and is traditionally used for preserves, tarts, compotes and liqueurs. Seed-grown trees are genetically variable and will not reproduce a named clone exactly, but they can make vigorous, rewarding specimens. Expect several years before flowering and fruiting. It is a rewarding choice for keen home growers.
