Polemonium Pauciflorum Hinckleyi

Hinckley’s Jacob’s ladder is a rare perennial from shaded canyons and mountain woodland in Texas and Arizona. Finely divided, fern-like foliage supports slender stems of long buttery-yellow trumpets, each flower often flushed, streaked or tipped with red. The unusual colour combination and narrow tubular form distinguish it sharply from familiar blue Jacob’s ladders. Compact enough for a sheltered rock garden yet graceful in a woodland border, it appreciates cool roots, partial shade and moisture without waterlogging.
