Primula Elatior Magenta

This magenta oxlip selection forms a tidy rosette of dark green leaves and carries rounded clusters of saturated magenta to purplish-red flowers on short sturdy stems. The bright blooms appear from late winter into spring, bringing concentrated colour to containers, border edges and woodland paths. Like other Primula elatior forms, it has a naturally upright flower cluster rather than the single low blooms of a common primrose. Hardy and easy in cool, humus-rich soil, it performs in sun or partial shade provided the roots remain evenly moist.
