Pulsatilla Vulgaris Double Red

This Double Red pasqueflower produces richly coloured spring blooms in crimson, wine red and deep burgundy above a cushion of finely divided, silky foliage. Additional petals create a fuller, ruffled flower while retaining the nodding, fur-clothed character of the wild species. As the blooms fade, extraordinary silver plumed seed heads expand and remain decorative for weeks. Pulsatilla is one of the classic flowers of Easter and early spring grassland. Compact, hardy and long lived once settled, it is ideal for a sunny trough, gravel garden or sharply drained border edge.
