Pumpkin Big Max

Pumpkin Big Max is the classic giant exhibition pumpkin, capable of producing enormous rounded orange fruits that may approach 45kg when given rich soil, generous feeding, abundant water and careful fruit selection. Despite its show potential, the firm orange flesh has good flavour for pies, soups and stews, and the large seeds can be roasted. Long trailing vines need substantial space, with the biggest specimens obtained by allowing only one or two fruits to develop on each well-grown plant. It is a rewarding choice for keen home growers.
