Rhododendron Albiflorum

Rhododendron albiflorum is a deciduous mountain shrub of western North America, often forming colonies beneath cool conifer forests and along avalanche tracks. Reddish hairs clothe the young shoots, while clusters of creamy white, bell-shaped flowers open on the previous year's wood before or with the leaves. The fresh green foliage can turn yellow in autumn. Known as cascade azalea or white rhododendron, it is a refined woodland specimen for acidic, humus-rich soil, cool roots and shelter from hot sun.
