Sisyrinchium Idahoense Var. Macounii 'Moody Blues'

'Moody Blues' is a compact form of Macoun's blue-eyed grass, producing tidy clumps of narrow, iris-like leaves and a succession of cool violet-blue flowers with bright yellow centres. The blooms open most fully in sunshine and sit clearly above the foliage, creating an intense but delicate display through late spring and summer. Its modest scale makes it ideal for troughs, rock gardens and border edges, where the roots can remain cool without becoming waterlogged. Seedlings may reveal subtle differences in blue tone, flower size and clump habit.
