Thalictrum Pubescens

Tall meadow rue is a substantial North American perennial of rich woods, marshes, wet meadows and stream banks. Blue-green leaves are divided into many rounded, three-lobed leaflets, while stems up to two metres or more carry huge summer panicles of tiny white flowers. The apparent petals are actually clouds of long, thread-like stamens, producing a soft starburst effect and excellent material for cutting. Mostly dioecious, the species may need both male and female plants for full seed set. It thrives in moist humus and dappled shade.
