Triteleia Laxa 'Dexter'

Triteleia laxa 'Dexter', also associated with the name 'Congesta', is a selected form of Ithuriel's spear grown for generous heads of blue to violet, funnel-shaped stars. Wiry stems rise cleanly above narrow leaves that are already fading as the flowers open, giving the umbels an airy floating quality in early summer. The corms retreat into a dry dormancy after flowering and can form increasing clumps in sunny, well-drained ground. Excellent for cutting and gravel planting, seed-raised offspring may reveal useful variation in head size and colour.
