Tulbaghia Violacea Alba

Tulbaghia violacea 'Alba' is a white-flowered form of society garlic, producing neat clumps of narrow, onion-scented leaves and slender summer stems topped by umbels of pure white stars. The fragrant blooms continue into early autumn and bring a clean, cool note to gravel gardens, containers and sunny border edges. Native ancestry from southern Africa gives good drought tolerance once established, while the aromatic foliage is generally avoided by browsing animals. It is hardy in mild gardens but benefits from shelter and dry winter protection elsewhere.
