Tulipa Binutans

The stock name Tulipa binutans is treated here as Tulipa biflora, a small Central Asian species often producing two or more flowers from one bulb. Slender stems carry creamy white to pale yellow stars, usually marked green, purple or bronze on the outer surface and lit by a yellow centre within. Narrow glaucous leaves keep the plant compact and refined. Adapted to open steppe and rocky slopes, it is ideal for a sunny trough or bulb frame with cold winter growth, perfect drainage and a hot, dry summer rest.
