Tulipa Praestans Shogun

'Shogun' is a compact, multi-flowered selection of Tulipa praestans. Downy grey-green leaves surround short sturdy stems, each capable of carrying up to five rich yellow-orange flowers in early spring. The clustered blooms create far more impact than a solitary tulip while remaining low enough for rock gardens, containers and windy sites. Like the species, it is naturally suited to cold Central Asian winters and can return reliably in sunny, well-drained ground. Seedlings may vary, offering scope to select strongly branching plants with especially warm colour.
