Verbascum Phoeniceum Rosetta

'Rosetta' is a richly coloured selection of purple mullein, producing a dark green basal rosette and tall, airy spires crowded with saucer-shaped flowers in deep clear pink. The blooms open progressively through summer and are set off by conspicuous stamens, creating a light but vivid vertical accent above gravel and dry borders. A biennial or short-lived evergreen perennial, it thrives in poor alkaline soil and full sun. Bees visit the flowers freely, and regular removal of faded spikes can extend the display and prolong the life of the plant.
