Wright's viburnum is an upright deciduous shrub from China, Korea and Japan. Broad oval leaves have pointed tips and sharply toothed margins, forming a fresh green framework for flat clusters of small white flowers in late spring. These are followed by glossy bright red berries that stand out through autumn, when the foliage turns copper, crimson and red. Hardy, adaptable and useful to birds and pollinating insects, Viburnum wrightii makes an excellent informal screen or woodland-edge specimen in sun or partial shade.
