Viola 'Prince John'

'Prince John' is an heirloom horned violet with cheerful golden-yellow flowers carried above a compact mound of fresh green foliage. The small blooms have the refined proportions and lightly whiskered face typical of Viola cornuta and appear over a long season from spring into autumn when faded flowers are removed. Hardy, neat and easy to combine, it is ideal for pots, baskets, border edging and cottage gardens. Plants may persist as short-lived perennials or renew themselves naturally from seed in cool, humus-rich soil.
