Viola Tricolor 'Mount Helen'

The supplied name 'Mount Helen' refers to the classic viola 'Helen Mount', also known as Johnny Jump Up. Compact plants carry a long succession of small tricoloured flowers, with rich purple upper petals, paler violet to yellow lower petals and dark whisker-like markings around the centre. Often grown as an annual, it may behave as a short-lived evergreen perennial in suitable conditions and readily renews itself from seed. Cheerful, hardy and versatile, it is excellent for edging, pots, rock gardens and informal cottage planting.
