Zantedeschia Jucunda

Zantedeschia jucunda is a rare yellow arum confined to the summit of the Leolo Mountains in South Africa's Sekhukhuneland. Arrow-shaped deep green leaves are freely speckled white, while the summer flower consists of a deep to cream-yellow funnel-shaped spathe with a dramatic dark purple base inside. It grows among rocks in open grassland and may flower spectacularly after well-timed early-summer rain. Some populations have benefited from stone walls and small-scale farming, yet wild plants are declining through removal for horticulture, making responsibly raised seed especially valuable.
