Viola Cornuta Minor Alba

Description
Your original description - Seldom seen white dwarf variety of the previous. CHILTERNS his lovely Violet is not a hybrid with other Viola varieties but a natural variety of the blue wild form. Of a compact, spreading, upright habit, it bears, in comparison to most of the innumerable hybrids, its quite delightful pure white flowers continuously from April until October by which time your thoughts may be turning to indoor pursuits! When cut back regularly, the plant regenerates very quickly and becomes a durable perennial. A sunny to partially shaded position in any good garden soil is all it asks. Hardy throughout the British Isles. 6 ins. RHS AGM winner £3.46 Also known as Winter Pansies, these are hardier than regular bedding pansies, tolerating more winter cold and summer heat. Plants form a low, bushy mound of bright green leaves, with loads of fragrant miniature pansy flowers from early spring to late fall, all winter in milder regions. Trim back in early summer to promote fresh growth. Excellent for massing, edging, rock gardens and in mixed containers. This very old selection has small star-shaped flowers with pure white petals. All pansies are short-lived perennials, usually lasting a couple of seasons. Flowers are edible.
Sowing Advice
Sow immediately at any time onto preferably a soil-based compost, covering with fine grit to approximately their own depth. Germination MAY be quicker if kept at 15 to 20 degrees C. but many seeds WILL NOT come up the year they are sown, needing winter chilling after sowing, and ONLY come up with natural spring germination.
