BRAZILIAN OVAL ORANGE
The attractive oval aubergine fruit of this rare variety are borne in heavy clusters on bushy habit, very productive, erect plants with dark green foliage that provides plenty of cover from the sun to prevent sun-scald. Despite the name, the fruit colour changes from green through orange to scarlet. Another aubergine variety which is often grown ornamentally.
Start indoors 8-12 weeks before last frost. Surface-sow and keep moist until sprouts appear, which can take up to three weeks or so. Like warm conditions. Transplant into the garden when weather has settled and soil is warm. Provide rich slightly acidic soil with ample moisture.
