A most unusual seedling appeared one day. Tight upright habit, compact trusses of upward-facing pale pink flowers. We concluded that as it appeared between the two, its parents were most probably G. clarkei 'Kashmir White' and G. sylvaticum. The seedlings displayed astonishing diversity, all having the same massed flower heads, but in colours from palest pinks to deepest blues.

Sowing Advice

Sow immediately at any time onto preferably a soil-based compost, covering with fine grit to approximately their own depth. Germination MAY be quicker if kept at 15 to 20 degrees C. but many seeds WILL NOT come up the year they are sown, needing winter chilling after sowing, and ONLY come up with natural spring germination.
