Succisa Pratensis
In stock
Description
Distinctive, dark violet-blue flowers, in pincushion form, are carried on tall stems arising from a rosette of leaves at ground level, and are on show from June until October. This attractive plant will thrive in moist soil in a sunny or partially shaded position, and is perhaps an addition for your bog garden? Butterflies, bees and hoverflies are all frequent visitors on this clump, which will spread over time.
Sowing Advice
Sow immediately at any time onto preferably a soil-based compost, covering with fine grit to approximately their own depth. Germination MAY be quicker if kept at 15 to 20 degrees C. but many seeds WILL NOT come up the year they are sown, needing winter chilling after sowing, and ONLY come up with natural spring germination.
