Description

Dwarf climbing clematis are extremely rare to find, but we have located and grown on the dwarfest, most diminutive blue and mauve cultivars we can find. These plants should retain their dwarf stature, although the odd one may reach a little further skywards. But all of them should have large starry flowers in all shades of blue, the best of all colours!

Sowing Advice

Sow seeds at any time onto a good soil-based compost covering seeds with fine grit or compost to approximately their own depth. We recommend germinating in a cool place although they should finally come up as the temperature rises above 10 degrees C. Germination may be very slow, perhaps 2-3 months, or sometimes much longer, and these seeds may sometimes wait for the following spring before emerging. Grow on individual seedlings in 3 inch pots before finally planting with climbing support in a well-drained spot or very large pot.
