Description
Tadorna produces a leek of medium length with a white shank and contrasting, very dark blue-green foliage. It has a very upright habit and is extremely winter hardy, cropping from December to March.
Sowing Advice
Sow March-April outdoors in prepared seedbed. Sow the leek seed thinly about 1 inch apart in drills about 1/4 inches deep and cover the seeds with fine sifted soil. Water if needed. Drills should be about 6 inches apart in the permanent bed. Thin as soon as possible to about 2 inches and then thin again to about 4 inches apart. Can be sown earlier under glass.
