Carnation Hardy Border Mix
In stock
Description
The traditional flower used in wedding button holes, the flowers of Carnation Hardy Border Mixed may not be quite as tightly double as the annual types but they are full of fragrance, and in milder areas they can be a fully perennial variety. This variety produces a brilliant show of colour in July, with beautifully perfumed blooms and long stems perfect for cutting.
Sowing Advice
Sow immediately at any time onto preferably a soil-based compost, covering with fine grit to approximately their own depth. Germination MAY be quicker if kept at 15 to 20 degrees C. but many seeds WILL NOT come up the year they are sown, needing winter chilling after sowing, and ONLY come up with natural spring germination.
