Description

Poppy ‘Hungarian Blue’ is an heirloom variety with single, silky petalled, bowl-shaped flowers in gorgeous purple-blue shades with dark inner markings on each petal. It was originally grown for its seed, but soon became a favourite with gardeners. Grow in drifts for colour impact and use the dried seed heads in autumn flower arrangements.

Sowing Advice

For best results, seeds are sown directly into the ground where required in the spring. Alternatively, sow in late winter/early spring in gentle warmth, 15-20 degrees C. Prick out into small 3 inch or 7 cm. pots and plant in final position when the plants are established.
