With its sturdy stems and dense flower spikes, this variety is also an excellent choice for cut flower arrangements. It performs best in well-drained, fertile soils and is a magnet for pollinators such as bees and butterflies.
Sowing Advice
Sow seeds indoors 8–10 weeks before the last frost date. Use a fine seed-starting mix and press the seeds lightly onto the surface without covering, as they require light to germinate. Maintain a temperature of 18–21°C (65–70°F) and keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Germination typically occurs within 7–14 days. Once seedlings have developed true leaves, transplant them into individual pots and grow them on until conditions are suitable for outdoor planting. Space plants 20–30 cm apart in a sunny or partially shaded location. Deadhead spent blooms regularly to encourage continuous flowering.
