Description
Antirrhinum majus 'Crimson Red', commonly known as Crimson Red Snapdragon, is a stunning variety celebrated for its rich, velvety red blooms. Known for its robust growth and prolonged flowering season, Crimson Red thrives in full sun to partial shade and performs well in well-drained, fertile soils. This versatile plant is perfect for creating dramatic color contrasts in mixed plantings or for use as a cut flower in floral arrangements. Sowing Advice
Sow seeds indoors 8–10 weeks before the last frost date. Use a fine seed-starting mix and lightly press the seeds onto the surface without covering, as light aids germination. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged and maintain a temperature of 18–21°C (65–70°F). Germination typically occurs within 7–14 days. Once seedlings have developed true leaves, transplant them into individual pots and grow them on until outdoor planting conditions are suitable. Space plants 20–30 cm apart in a sunny or partially shaded location. Deadhead spent blooms regularly to encourage continuous flowering.
