Open Pollination

Many seeds grown at Plant World are field grown and are open-pollinated. Consequently, occasional variations may occur and we cannot be held responsible other than for the replacement of the seeds.

Crop Failure

In the unlikely event of crop failure or other seed deficiency, which must be confirmed by seed trials here, the liability of Plant World shall not under any conditions exceed the value of the seed in question.

Incorrect seed Identity

All seeds are tested for acceptable germination, but the element of time makes it impracticable to grow each crop on to full flowering for accurate identification, especially with slow-maturing perennial plants. Many of our seeds are obtained from other growers and companies, and mistakes can inevitably (but very rarely) occur. We are always understanding and sympathetic should this happen, but must stress that the strict limit of our liability is to either replace (from a new crop) or refund the cost of the purchase. We regret that we can only supply seeds with this proviso.

Reseller Information

In some genera which produce coloured-leaved forms, for example, anthriscus, aquilegia, hardy geranium, a percentage of ordinary green-leaved seedlings will appear. It is necessary to reject these at the pricking-out stage. Some plants do not develop their variegation until they have reached the third or fourth leaf stage, for example: Lavatera arborea variegata. If seed is to be sold on to a third party either for resale or commercial plant production, THIS INFORMATION MUST BE PASSED ONTO THEM.

Please note that customers ordering seed this year will automatically receive an annual 'special offers' email which is normally sent out mid-November.


You may order online using a credit/debit card (we accept Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, JCB and Amex) or via PayPal. For other payment methods, please contact us. All payments are taken using the currency Pound Sterling (£'s). The minimum per item spend is £5 (Pounds sterling)

Postage & Packaging

Postage & Packing (shipping) is charged at £5.00 (Pounds sterling) for destinations in the UK, and £7.50 for the rest of the world.

Overseas Customers

We are unable to provide Phytosanitary Certificates or other declarations. There may be problems importing seeds to your country due to this and other possible restrictions. Please will you check with your authorities regarding these restrictions BEFORE placing an order. We do not assume any responsibility if Customs or similar agencies confiscate seeds. However, any complete orders that may be returned to us in those cases will be refunded.

For US customers – We advise you apply for a Small Seed Permit (PPQ 587 - Permit to Import Plants and Plant Products) before ordering. This is a link to the US government’s page that might be helpful, as well as the mailing process and shipping label requirements:

Countries we cannot ship to

Unfortunately we are unable to ship to the following countries: Argentina, Belarus, Brazil, Egypt, Estonia, Japan, Latvia, Mexico, Sweden.

Website Stock Levels

We do our best to keep our stock level accurate but occasionally we may not have sufficient stock to fully complete your order. On these occasions we will contact you within 2 working days of your order and will confirm whether you would like to choose alternative items, or if you would like refunds for the items we do not have available. Note: The maximum refund will not exceed the total order value.


When ordering is made online using a Credit or Debit card, your seeds will normally be sent within ten working days to the delivery address you supply.

Refund policy and Replacements

In the unlikely event that our seeds fail to please you, we are happy to replace them with the same or similar seeds according to your requirements. Should you wish to return goods, please ensure your seeds are sent to us by recorded delivery with a detailed letter of explanation. You will then be given a full refund.

Communication and Data Processing

Your personal information is confidential to us and will not be passed on to any third parties. We do not store or hold any payment related information - this is processed by our trusted payment providers, SagePay and PayPal. If we encounter issues processing your order, we may contact you using your provided email address.

Image Availability

High quality images of all items can be supplied on request with the strict proviso that they are used solely for the purpose of marketing the seeds purchased from us or the plants grown from them.
