TORTOISE FOOD FLOWER MIXTURE

Description

A specially formulated mix of seeds which will provide a range of plants which provide a healthy diet for tortoises. The varieties include Great Plantain (Plantago major), Common Mallow (Malva sylvestris), Creeping Bellflower (Campanula rapunculoides), Evening Primrose (Oenothera biennis), Mixed Geraniums, Musk Mallow (Malva moschata), Globe Thistle (Echinops bannaticus), Flowering Maple (Abutilon Suntense), Tall Eryngo (Eryngium giganteum) and Salsify (Tragopodon porrifolius).

Sowing Advice

For best results, seeds are best sown directly into the ground where required in the spring. Alternatively, sow in late winter/early spring in gentle warmth, 15-20 degrees C. Prick out into small 3" pots and plant in final position when the plants are established. Some of these plants are perennials and will grow for many years. Annuals will grow very quickly but will die in the winter, and will probably self-seed if the seed heads are allowed to ripen and disperse.
