Caesalpinia Pulcherrima
In stock
Description
Beautifully fringed, orange and red blooms cover this magnificent, West Indian shrub which has most attractive deeply divided foliage. In a warm country or very well-protected UK garden or a conservatory, it makes one of the most spectacular plants you can ever be lucky enough to grow.
Sowing Advice
Lightly sand the seed before soaking in water for up to 24 hours. If external coating is very hard then cut/nick shell to enable water to penetrate the internal kernel. Pot into a good medium of loamy/good draining compost and water lightly. Do not over water as rotting may occur. Place into a polythene bag on a warm sunny window sill and wait for approx 10 days. Once leaves appear remove from bag and keep warm preferably in direct sunlight with good air circulation, but again do not over water these plants as they are drought tolerant.
