Phlomis Samia
In stock
Description
A bold and architectural perennial, Phlomis 'Samia' brings structure and soft colour to the garden with its whorls of soft lilac-pink flowers held on tall, upright stems above clumps of large, grey-green, felted leaves. Flowering from early to mid-summer, the striking seed heads that follow add long-lasting interest well into winter. Drought-tolerant and easy to grow, it thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, making it perfect for Mediterranean-style borders, gravel gardens, and wildlife-friendly planting schemes. A fantastic choice for adding texture, movement, and a relaxed, natural feel to the garden.
Sowing Advice
Sow immediately at any time onto preferably a soil-based compost, covering with fine grit to approximately their own depth. Germination MAY be quicker if kept at 15 to 20 degrees C. but many seeds WILL NOT come up the year they are sown, needing winter chilling after sowing, and ONLY come up with natural spring germination.
