Datisca Cannabina
In stock
Description
This extremely rare specimen is an absolutely magnificent plant for the back of the border, and we had never previously heard of this plant or family! Tall, strong, fabulous, arching, cane-like stems sprout large, pendulous, terminal sprays of creamy-yellow-green flowers, and are clad in palmate leaves resembling the famous drug! When dried the flowers and stems make gorgeous winter displays. Bone hardy, non-invasive and perhaps the tallest herbaceous perennial you can grow, this is yet another reliable "baffle-the-expert" plant.
Sowing Advice
Sow immediately at any time onto preferably a soil-based compost, covering with fine grit to approximately their own depth. Germination MAY be quicker if kept at 15 to 20 degrees C. but many seeds WILL NOT come up the year they are sown, needing winter chilling after sowing, and ONLY come up with natural spring germination.
