Stachys Macrantha
In stock
Description
Impressively-large whorls of rosy-mauve hooded flowers adorn erect stems, which stand above clumps of attractively wrinkled scallop-edged leaves in a rich dark green; a very elegant contrast of colour displayed in June and July. This lovely plant will enjoy light well-drained soil in sun or part shade and the clump will slowly increase in size over time, but never become invasive.
Sowing Advice
Sow immediately at any time onto preferably a soil-based compost, covering with fine grit to approximately their own depth. Germination MAY be quicker if kept at 15 to 20 degrees C. but many seeds WILL NOT come up the year they are sown, needing winter chilling after sowing, and ONLY come up with natural spring germination.
