Description
An extra-large white pumpkin, with fruit typically growing to over 15kg in size. Good white colour that is retained well after harvest making it suitable for carving and a real Halloween talking point! The deep orange flesh is delicious roasted. Pumpkins are hungry and thirsty plants. Water freely and frequently especially during dry spells. Once fruits swell in earnest feed plants regularly with a liquid fertiliser. Best grown with one fruit per plant.
Sowing Advice
Grow in very rich soil, amended with manure, compost, or other rich source of plant nutrients. Plant in rows, 5-8 feet in both directions, sowing one seed every 6-12 inches. Or plant in hills, 5 seeds per hill, with the hills 6-8 feet apart, thinning to best three plants. Full sun, ample moisture and insect control as necessary should allow good production from the vigorous plants. Harvest in autumn when skins are too tough to be easily punctured with a thumbnail.
