Phytolacca Bogotensis
In stock
Description
From the lower Andes of Chile & Peru in South America comes this medium sized, fully winter hardy herbaceous perennial with bright rose flowers followed by showy, glossy, black berries. It is very fast growing, with glossy, dark green leaves. It will thrive in any rich, well-drained soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot, but will tolerate drought once established.
Sowing Advice
Sow immediately at any time onto preferably a soil-based compost, covering with fine grit to approximately their own depth. Germination MAY be quicker if kept at 15 to 20 degrees C. but many seeds WILL NOT come up the year they are sown, needing winter chilling after sowing, and ONLY come up with natural spring germination.
