In our gardens at Plant World we grow the lovely old-fashioned primrose 'Garryarde Guinevere' which carries bright pink flowers above deep purple leaves. Our busy bees carried pollen from these old plants, which are themselves sterile and produce no seed, to a bed of our yellow 'Devon primrose' or Primula vulgaris. One of the subsequent seedlings was a lovely hybrid between the two, bearing large, floppy, pale pink flowers, on darker stems, over a rosette of palest purple leaves. Seedlings may vary slightly but all will be lovely.
